Leeds weather forecast predicts thunderstorms as sunny spell comes to an end

A thunderstorm is set to hit Leeds later today (Friday), bringing to the city's sunny spell to an end.

A yellow weather warning for a thunderstorm covering most of the UK has been issued, meaning there could be flooding and disruption in a few places.

Leeds is set to stay dry until mid-afternoon, according to the Met Office.

A thunderstorm is set to hit the city at around 4pm, lasting a couple of hours.

Chances of rain into the evening are around 30 per cent.

The weather will start to settle over night, but Saturday is set to be a washout - with storms expected at midday and through most of the afternoon.

Sunday looks more settled, but there may still be slight showers.
