Temperatures are set to plunge in Leeds tonight, according to the Met Office.

Patches of snow settled across higher ground in West Yorkshire on Tuesday as the cold snap began.

It will be a cold but clear night tonight, with frost expected by dawn.

The minimum temperature will be -1 °C.

Wednesday will be cold with light winds and some hazy sunny spells once early mist and fog patches have cleared.

The maximum temperature will be 8 °C.

There is a less than five per cent chance of rain today and tomorrow.
