Leeds May Bank Holiday weather forecast: Will the sunshine continue across the city this weekend?

People enjoyed wonderful, warm weather in Leeds this week - but how is the forecast looking as we head towards the first May Bank Holiday?

This is what we can expect weather wise next week, according to the Met Office forecasters.

Monday:

It will be a chilly start in Leeds on Monday.

However, the day will be generally fine and dry, with some sunny spells.

There is a chance it could get a little cloudier in the evening.

It will be warmer than on Sunday, with maximum temperatures of 15 degrees.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

As we head into Tuesday, the weather will become less settled and colder.

There is a chance the city could see some rain or showers.

The showers are likely to be more widespread on Wednesday and Thursday.

The nights will be chilly - so be sure to wrap up warm if visiting one of Leeds' beer gardens or outdoor dining terraces.

As we head towards the weekend, the conditions are expected to remain largely dry and fine.

There will be bright spells, but also cloud.

Showers, mostly light, are possible at times, especially across central and eastern parts of the UK.

Rain may affect far northern and northwestern areas too.

Later in the outlook, there is an increased likelihood of more unsettled periods with showers or longer spells of rain.
