Leeds Council preparing for snow as teams deal with flooding damage

Leeds Council teams are preparing for snow on Monday morning after spending time on Sunday dealing with flood water and damage.

Road sweepers have been treating floodwater on Pool Road and Farnley Lane on Sunday.

There are also reports of fallen trees in some areas which have been dealt with by Leeds City Council officers.

A spokesman for Leeds Council said: "Road sweeper has been out treating floodwater on Pool Road/Farnley Lane, reports of fallen trees also being dealt with by LCC officers.

But the good news is that the snow is set to give way to drizzle and rain later in the day - so we're unlikely to be set for a full snow day unless the forecast becomes even colder in the next 24 hours.

Snow will give way to sleet at about 8am, before several hours of heavy rain sets in.

On Saturday, flooding led police to issue a danger warning to motorists, after water swallowed up Pool Lane in Otley. Several bus services were also suspended and drivers were advised to find alternative routes.
