Farsley Celtic’s Vanarama National League North fixture against Leamington FC was set to take place at the Citadel stadium on Saturday,

However, the club has now confirmed its match has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

A statement from the club read: “Farsley Celtic can confirm that tomorrow’s scheduled National League North fixture against Leamington has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at the Citadel.

“A qualified referee inspected the pitch this afternoon, deeming the playing surface unplayable following the recent cold snap.

“A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.”

The news comes as overnight temperatures are set to plummet to minus 2 degrees, and are not expected to rise far above freezing this weekend.
