Wakefield Wildcats: Fifita escapes ban after high challenge

WAKEFIELD TRINITY Wildcats forward David Fifita has been told his sin-binning for a high tackle during his side's Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-final defeat by Warrington was sufficient punishment.

Fifita was making only his seventh appearance for Wildcats when he was yellow carded for a tackle on Wolves scrum-half Chris Sandow 10 minutes into the second half.

Warrington scored two tries while Wakefield were down to 12 men and went on to win 56-12.

The ruling by the RFL’s match-review panel means Fifita will be available for Wakefield’s First Utility Super League game at last weekend’s other beaten semi-finalists, Wigan Warriors, on Friday.
