Video: Tadcaster's post-flood recovery continues

A Floating pontoon has been moved into position to help rebuild the 300 year old Tadcaster bridge, which was damaged by flooding across Yorkshire over the Christmas period.

Construction work has also been carried out in recent days to build a temporary footbridge over the River Wharfe to help rejoin the two sides of Tadcaster.

The 18th century road bridge collapsed dramatically as the Boxing Day deluge 
hit.

The structure is expected to take up to 12-months to repair at a cost of £3m. Elsewhere, Leeds City Council has said that it still needs to examine around 150 waterway structures for damage but has been hindered by high water levels and continuing bad weather.
