A witness saw emergency services working to free the trapped occupants of one of the cars following the crash at the junction of Dewsbury Road and Old Lane, near the Tommy Wass pub, this morning.

One of the cars appeared to have been driven by a learner as it was displaying L plates.

Police are currently unable to provide details of injuries. Updates are expected to follow later.
