The three foot long reptile is believed to be a corn snake and was found outside Shelly Malone’s home on Aberdeen Street.

She said: “I heard the postman deliver the mail then he came back and knocked on the door to tell me there was a snake outside the house.

“I couldn’t believe it.”

Postman, Steve Brook-Smith, found the snake and assumed it was just a toy at first.

It has now been recovered and the RSPCA have removed the snake.
