Video: Knife-wielding robber stopped in tracks by shopkeeper who fought him off - with SCRATCHCARD STAND
Luke Aaron Russell, 23, tried to rob the shop a year ago but was fought off by gutsy Tamer Hamanda who then chased him into the street.
The raid was caught on CCTV cameras and footage shows Mr Hamanda defending himself with the scratchcard stand after Russell ran behind the counter with the knife. Now Russell has been jailed for six years after a jury found him guilty last month. The jury were shown the CCTV recording of the failed robbery at 8.05pm on February 5 last year where Russell had to flee empty-handed from the Premier Express in York.
