Video - Conservationists’ horror at plans for 200ft viewing ‘eye’ for tourists in front of famous Pulteney Bridge, Bath

A developer wants to build the revolving £5 milllion ‘Aqueye’ viewing tower on an island in the River Avon in the heart of Bath.

It will rise from a horizontal position to a height of 65m and offer spectacular views across the historic Somerset city. But opponents say the tower will blight the iconic views of Pulteney Bridge, one of the treasures of Bath which is a World Heritage Site.
