Severe rush hour traffic on M621 out of Leeds with queues crawling at 10mph

There are severe delays on the M621 out of Leeds this evening, with queuing traffic backing up across six junctions.

Traffic is crawling at an average speed of ten miles per hour from Junction 2 at Elland Road to Junction 7 for the M1.

Drivers have reported being stuck in slow moving traffic for as long as 30 minutes.

The AA reported: "Severe delays of 17 minutes and delays easing on M621 Eastbound between J2 A643 (Elland Road) and M1 J43.

"Average speed ten mph."

There is also heavy traffic on the M1 from Junction 43 at Leeds to Junction 40 at Ossett.
