Selby Road Leeds accident: Two women taken to hospital after crash involving police car

Two women have been taken to hospital after a crash on Selby Road in east Leeds.

The crash happened at 9.44pm last night (Thursday) when a marked police car and a member of the public's car crashed at the junction of Selby Road and Dunhill Rise.

Pictures posted on social media showed the police car smashed into the railings on the pedestrian crossing.

Two women members of the public, aged 39 and 61, from the other car were taken to hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening.

The two police officers involved were not injured.

A road closure and diversion has been put in place for crash investigation work.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct has been notified.
