A blue Mini Cooper left the road on Ash Hill Drive at Shadwell, and collided with a lamppost and a tree at 10.25am yesterday (June 18)

The driver, an 83-year-old local man, was taken to hospital for treatment and was sadly later pronounced dead.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the movements of the vehicle prior to the collision, particularly anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
