Rail operator Northern, which runs trains to and from Leeds station, is recruiting drivers for the sum of up to £61,500 a year.

In a post on Facebook, Chief Operating Officer of Northern, Tricia Williams said: "Right now we're looking for talented people from all backgrounds to help us create a service for our customers that we can all be proud of."

Northern has three different driver team manager roles available across the country which require a minimum of four years train driving experience.

The role is described as a 'challenging and exciting' one and involves directing all traincrew operational, safety and people management activities.

Northern wants its new driver team manager's skills to include excellent people management and communication skills, with proven organisational and time management skills.

The manager will work across shift patterns which include weekends and evenings, and must have a desire to deliver excellent customer service.

The salary is between £59,250 and £61,500 per annum and the manager will be required to work for 37 hours per week.
