There are major traffic delays this afternoon in Headingley following a crash at Hyde Park Corner.

The AA first reported the crash shortly before 12pm on Tuesday.

Traffic is now building in the area, the AA said.

The report reads: "Reports of heavy traffic due to accident on A660 Headingley Lane at Hyde Park Road (The Hyde Park Traffic Lights)."

Both police and the ambulance service are currently on the scene.

Buses have also been diverted due to the incident.

First West Yorkshire tweeted: "SERVICE UPDATE - 1/6/8/27/28/X84 Hyde Park Corner is closed. The above services are diverted to BEESTON/LEEDS via Merrion Street, Wade Lane, Lovell Park Road, Oatland Lane, Oatland Road, Meanwood Road, Grove Lane, Shaw Lane, Otley Road.

West Yorkshire Police has been contacted for comment.
