Lines blocked out of Leeds station due to damaged wires at Armley Junction with disruption expected all night

Passengers are facing disruptions this evening after damaged overheard wires at Armley Junction cause delays from routes at Leeds station.

Damage to the overhead electric wires near Armley Junction means all lines are blocked, Northern said.

As a result of this, trains in the Leeds area may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes according to the operator.

The disruption is expected until 8pm tonight.

Here is what passengers should do according to each operator:

LNER

This is currently affecting LNER services between Doncaster and Leeds. Services may divert via York.

Passengers travelling from Leeds are able to use their ticket to travel on Northern and TransPennine services to connect with LNER trains at York for London Kings Cross services.

Passengers travelling to Leeds are advised to travel on LNER trains to York and then use Northern and TransPennine services to Leeds.

This is affecting services between Leeds and Skipton, Leeds and Bradford Forster Square, Leeds and Ilkley, and Leeds and York via Harrogate.

Passengers at Leeds for Bradford Forster Square are advised to travel to Bradford Interchange.

Passengers at Leeds for York and York for Leeds are advised to travel via the Garforth line.

To help passengers complete their journeys, replacement road transport is in the process of being recruited. More information will be provided when known.
