Leeds: Passengers stranded after bus and minibus collide

SHOCKED passengers were left stranded at the roadside after their bus was involved in a crash with a minibus in Leeds today. (August 20)

The crash happened on the A647, Stanningley Bypass, Bradford bound at Dawson’s Corner just before 9am.

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said that the bus and the minibus were involved in a collision which saw one lane closed.

Commuters said passengers could be seen standing on the nearby grass verge beside the bus, which had its windscreen shattered in the collision.

A new bus was later sent to pick them up.

The spokeswoman said one person, understood to be the driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary to be treated for injuries.

The scene was cleared and the lane reopened just after 10.30am.
