Jet2 cancels all flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to Balearic Islands for rest of summer 2020
Jet2 has cancelled all flights and holiday packages to the Balearic Islands for the rest of the summer.
Yorkshire holidaymakers can no longer travel with the airline from Leeds Bradford Airport to Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca for the 'rest of Summer 20'.
The airline and holiday package company said the decision has been made due to uncertainty caused by the ongoing pandemic and current Government advice.
Anyone who visits Spain, including the Balearic Islands, must quarantine for 14 days on arrival back to the UK.
Customers who have booked flights or holiday packages during this period will be contacted by the airline to rebook, or offered a refund credit note or full cash refund.
A spokesperson for Jet2 said: "We are obviously very disappointed to be making this announcement, as we know how much our customers look forward to their well-deserved holidays in these fantastic destinations.
"Where customers are affected by any programme changes, we have been repeatedly recognised by independent travel agents for how we have handled this, and we will be automatically cancelling affected trade bookings with a full refund."
The company has added 100,000 extra seats to four European countries which it says will give customers more choice when re-booking holidays.
Yorkshire holidaymakers can now purchase additional flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to Antalya in Turkey and Faro in Portugal.
Jet2 says Greece has been one of its most popular choices this summer and has added extra seats from Leeds Bradford Airport to Crete (Heraklion) and Corfu.
