Henconner Lane crash: Double decker bus smashes into Bramley railway bridge leaving passenger with minor injuries

A double decker bus has smashed into a railway bridge in Leeds leaving a passenger with minor injuries.

It happened in Henconner Lane, Bramley, at about 6pm.

A bus from the First Bus 15 service got stuck under the bridge causing damage to the top deck.

West Yorkshire Police were called to the scene and closed the road to traffic.

A police spokeswoman has confirmed that one passenger was treated at the scene for minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.

All train lines through Bramley were closed while the bus was recovered, causing delays to Northern services.

Henconner Lane and all train lines had reopened by 7.15pm.

A spokesperson for First Bus said: "We can confirm one of the buses from our 15 service became stuck under a bridge on Henconner Lane, Bramley this afternoon.

"A passenger onboard was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

"Emergency services attended the scene and the bus has now been recovered.

“The safety and well-being of our passengers, drivers and the public are our number one priority and we are conducting a full investigation to determine how this incident happened.”
