A child was taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle near Dawsons Corner.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Bradford Road shortly before 3pm yesterday (Thursday).

A 12-year-old girl had been hit by a vehicle.

She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary to be treated for head injuries.

There was severe traffic disruption around the busy roundabout for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The incident had cleared by around 5.30pm.
