Police were called out to deal with an incident on the A64 close to Regent Street which led to the roads being closed, and several bus services were consequently disrupted.

A spokesman for First Bus said: "A64 York Road eastbound carriageway is closed between Beckett Street and North Street due to an ongoing Police Incident. We have up to 8 vehicles stuck presently and this will have a knock-on to some journeys scheduled to operate later as a result of this."

Services including the 42 and the 757 were both affected.

The roads reopened at about 12 noon and the buses have since continued their journeys.

This footage shows the scene this morning, when the road was closed - but no traffic could be seen anywhere in sight.

West Yorkshire Police have not yet confirmed the nature of the incident but it is not thought to be coronavirus related.
