Confirmation for when new bus stop will be installed in Kirkstall, Leeds, after crash

A new bus shelter is due to be installed in Leeds after the previous one was damaged in a car crash.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority have confirmed that a new bus shelter will be installed on Queenswood Drive by the junctions of Kirkstall Lane and St Anne’s Lane.

The previous one was damaged in a car crash on January 13 and removed by contractors the following day.

The shelter at the bus stop, which serves the 19 and 56 bus routes, will be installed between March 23 and 25.

Local resident and campaigner Stuart Long added that there is no footway closure planned for when the stop is installed “so it shouldn’t interfere too much with your daily walk or run”.

A West Yorkshire Combined Authority spokesperson said: “The previous bus shelter was removed after it was damaged in a road traffic accident in January.

“A like-for-like replacement bus shelter will be installed at Queenswood Drive at the end of March.”
