Car roof removed after ring road crash

FIREFIGHTERS removed the roof of a car to free a man injured in an accident on the Leeds Inner Ring Road.

The crash happened at 8.17pm on Saturday on the A58, near the Park Lane flyover in Leeds city centre.

Fire crews from Leeds and Gipton found one man in the car, who was not trapped but due to his injuries firefighters cut off the roof to allow him to be removed safely.

He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

No other vehicles were involved.
