Buses delayed in Leeds city centre due to protest march

Buses in Leeds city centre are facing delays this afternoon (Saturday) due to a protest march.

The 'West Yorkshire United for Palestine' demonstration is currently making its way through the city centre.

First Bus West Yorkshire said around 800 people were expected at the march.

They tweeted: "Please allow for extra time to travel this afternoon. There is a protest march with approximately 800 people expected which commences at 15:30 in Leeds This is likely to have a large impact on all buses which run through the city centre."

Arriva Yorkshire tweeted: "Protest March in Leeds Centre. In order to maintain punc the following services temp diverting . 117/118 into Leeds via Crown Point Road and out vice versa missing city square. 444/446 terminate Kirkgate and turning. Starting at New York Street (Bus Station)"
