Bank holiday traffic chaos as crash causes M62 closure in West Yorkshire

A section of the M62 has been closed in West Yorkshire due to a crash, the AA reported.

The closure both ways is due to an accident on the M62 at J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor).

A detour is now in operation via the exit and entry slips, the AA said.

The closure was originally thought to be a car fire, but reports now state it was a crash.

Traffic is building in the area, with delays of more than 40 minutes at 6pm on Monday.

More than four miles of queues are currently on the M62 near the crash.

Drivers have been warned to avoid the area.
