Currently, the HS2 route through Leeds cuts through several housing estates and cuts across motorways which will cause years of disruption and delays for demoltion and construction. This is how Leeds will be affected, according to HS2's own documents, if the route DOES go ahead as planned.
7. Hunslet businesses
The route in Hunslet, Leeds will require 25 businesses to be knocked down including The Queens at Stourton Public House and Leeds Specialist Autism Services.

9. M1 motorway
Delays and diversions will hit: the M1 junctions 44 and 45, the M1 junctions 30 and 31, M1 (junction 47), in both directions.
10. Hunslet Club, Hillidge Road
As well as 11 roads being permanently closed, a playing pitch and part of the outdoor space associated with Hunslet Club on Hillidge Road will be demolished.
11. City centre car parks
Parking in Leeds city centre will be lost, while roads including Jack Lane will be shut for several years
12. River Aire
The River Aire in Leeds will be temporarily closed at points during construction, meaning you won't be able to navigate down the river
