A car park in Leeds city centre containing 100 spaces is due to permanently close later this week.

The Wellington Place outdoor car park on Whitehall Road is to close at 9pm on January 24, Wellington Place announced.

The car park has 100 spaces, with many commuters using the site to park on a daily basis.

Alternative parking will be at the NCP car park accessed from Wellington Street or Whitehall Road Car Park.

Existing Wellington Place permit holders will now park in a relocated car park accessed from Whitehall Road.

A statement on the Wellington Place website read: "Due to the imminent construction of the next phase of the Wellington Place development, the outdoor pay and display car park, situated off Whitehall Road, will be permanently closed from 9pm on 24th January.

"Parking for existing Wellington Place permit holders only will be available in the relocated permit holders’ car park accessed off Whitehall Road.

"Alternative parking is available at the NCP car park accessed from Wellington Street."
