Traffic news: Leeds inner ring road closures announced

Council highways bosses have today confirmed the eastbound carriageway of the A58(M)/A64 will be closed from the junction at Wellington Street through to the junction at Marsh Lane to allow the work to be carried out.

Repairs include joints of the viaduct structure being replaced along with partial waterproofing and resurfacing.

The work is due to start at 8pm on Friday, ending at 5am on Monday.

Signs showing a diversion route for eastbound traffic will be in place. The westbound carriageway will be unaffected by the works.

The work is part of a major overhaul of the city’s busiest thoroughfare, which was given the green light by the Government in 2013.

The viaduct work is part of the third and final phase of works to fix the Leeds Inner Relief Road. The wider project has included repairs on the Woodhouse Tunnel and Lovell Park Road Bridge.
