Police release update on condition of 88-year-old woman who was hit by car on York Road
Police have released an update on the condition of an 88-year-old woman who was hit by a car on York Road yesterday.
The woman, who was a pedestrian, was involved in a crash with a blue Vaxuall Astra at 3.17pm.
It happened just outside the Post Office near to the junction with Rookwood Avenue.
She was taken to hospital with head injuries.
Officers said that they are not believed to be life threatening.
She is continuing to receive treatment.
The road was closed while emergency services attended.
It was reopened shortly after 5pm.
