The campaign was founded in 2015 by Mark Morrell, also known as Mr Pothole, in partnership with the website Street Repairs, to encourage the government and local councils to shift away from patchwork fixes and toward long-term resurfacing.
The day encourages the public to use apps and websites to officially report holes, as councils are often only liable for damage if the pothole has been previously reported.
This year, the conversation is centred around The Pothole Partnership - a coalition of the AA, JCB, and British Cycling. They are currently calling for a five-year warranty on all road repairs to ensure that taxpayers aren't paying for the same hole to be filled twice.
Leeds has recently been handed a 'green' light for its road maintenance in a new study from the Department for Transport, with their traffic light tool ranking the city among the best in the country for road conditions and investment.
But there are some locations in Leeds that our readers think are the worst in the city for potholes - and still in need of a little attention. Here are 11 of the worst streets in the city for potholes, according to locals.

7. Scotland Lane
A key cut-through for many, Scotland Lane was flagged as a major concern, as residents noted that the narrow nature of the road makes avoiding the deep holes particularly dangerous when facing oncoming traffic. | Google Street View

8. Spen Lane
The little roundabout on Spen Lane near the local shops was highlighted as a specific danger zone. Readers noted that the turning force required at the roundabout makes hitting these ruts even more damaging to tyres and steering. | Google Street View

9. York Road
As one of the city's busiest commuter routes, York Road's "craters" were a common talking point. The sheer volume of traffic means these holes are under constant stress, leading readers to call out the futility of the "patchwork" repairs often seen here. | Google Street View

10. Otley Road
Running through the heart of Headingley, this road was described as being in a state of" total disrepair." | Google Street View

11. Burley Road
A very specific warning was issued for Burley Road, specifically the section just after the bus lane turning left towards Willow Road. | Google Street View
