Rolling road closures were in place as protesters marched through the city centre earlier this afternoon. This caused a backlog of heavy traffic, which added to congestion caused by Black Friday shoppers and Friday park time traffic.

There are delays to First Bus, Arrriva, Aireline and Yorkshire Tiger services.

First Bus West Yorkshire tweeted: "Delays to services across the entire Leeds network of up to two hours and 10 minutes due to a combination of the Youth Strike for Climate Change Protest in Leeds City Centre, Black Friday shoppers and peak time traffic causing extensive congestion and delays."

All First Bus services through Leeds city centre are likely to be affected.

Due to 'gridlock' in the city centre, Arriva services 202 and 203 are diverting over Tetley's bridge in both directions until further notice.

Yorkshire Tiger's 757 service is delayed by about 30 minutes.
