Delays to Leeds trains due to flock of sheep on the railway

Train operator Northern said trains are having to run at reduced speeds between Kirkstall Forge and Apperley Bridge due to the rogue sheep.

Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

Disruption is expected until at least 1pm.

Northern said: "Services to/from Leeds and Ilkley/Skipton/Bradford Forster Square may be delayed in the Apperley Bridge area as a flock of sheep has been reported within the railway boundary.

"Network Rail staff are expected to be on site at 11.30pm.

"For passengers on station platforms, please listen for announcements or consult Customer Information Screens for up to date train running information."
