Bus delays as incident blocks road outside Leeds Train Station

There are delays to bus services in Leeds city centre after an incident blocked the road outside Leeds City Station.

Two vehicles were parked on New Station Street, blocking the road and preventing buses from driving past without mounting the kerb.

It is believed that ambulance crews were attending an incident at Leeds Station.

All services through New Station Street were forced to divert via Mill Hill until the incident was cleared.

First Bus West Yorkshire tweeted: "We have been notified that there are two large vehicles parked on New Station Street. Buses are unable to proceed through without mounting the kerb.

"Buses to divert via Mill Hill until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused."

Rush hour traffic congestion is adding to delays with services 50/50A, 19/19A, 49, X27, 4, 56 and 35 worst affected.

Due to delays of up to 40 minutes on The Headrow, Arriva services will be diverted via Vicar Lane then resuming their normal route at NCP or the bus station.
