'Too happy for words': Family of missing girl, 15, thank Leeds public for sharing appeal more than 11,000 times

More than 11,000 people shared a YEP appeal and the original plea for information made by Natalie Horner as concern grew for her 'beautiful little sister' Kate Hunter.

Kate, from Wetherby, was reported missing at 12.25am in the early hours of Saturday after she failed to return home on Friday night from Leeds city centre.

Thankfully, police reported this afternoon that she had been found safe and well.

It prompted Natalie to use social media once more, this time to express her gratitude.

She wrote: "KATE IS HOME. We are so relieved and so happy I can't even put it into words.

"Thank you all so so much for your lovely words and support over these hideous few days, you are all amazing." ï¸

West Yorkshire Police also acknowledged the role the public and social media had played in ensuring Kate was found.

A spokesman said: “We are very grateful to everyone who has assisted in sharing the appeal.

"You’ve once again shown what a powerful tool social media can be in livetime police investigations to safeguard vulnerable people.”
