Three fire engines called to Beeston house as 'smoke billows from attic'

Three fire engines have been called to a house fire in Leeds where smoke was seen 'billowing from the attic'.

Firefighters were called to reports of a house fire on Harlech Terrace, Beeston, at 12.37pm.

Two engines from Hunslet and one from Leeds attended the mid-terrace property, near Cross Flatts Park.

An eyewitness, who lives on Harlech Terrace, said the fire appeared to be located on the top floor attic conversion.

Jan Baxter, 58, said: "I could see smoke billowing from an attic conversion from my garden. We think it is an unoccupied house."

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Fire confirmed that no occupants needed rescuing from the house and crews have put on the fire.

There are no reported injuries.
