Three engines sent to house fire at Leeds home with no smoke alarms

Three fire engines responded to a fire at a home in Leeds which had no working smoke alarms.

The fire broke out in the laundry room of the house in Rodley.

It was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan.

There were no working smoke alarms in the property.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service appliances were sent to the incident. from Stanningley, Rawdon and Bradford.

A spokesperson from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire in a laundry room within a domestic property, 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and positive pressure ventilation fan used to extinguish the fire.

"No working smoke detectors were in the property.

"Appliances from Stanningley, Rawdon and Bradford attended the incident."
