This new app can change young people’s lives in Leeds, and has won its makers an award.

Its ‘Super Stars’ app, developed for a Leeds community charity, has won a digital marketing agency a special award.

Engage Interactive received a District Chief Superintendent’s Commendation from West Yorkshire Police for its outstanding contribution to city communities.

This award goes to individuals and organisations whose service is exceptional.
Engage donated 1,000 office hours to create ‘Super Stars’, for Harehills-based CATCH. CATCH works to improve local communities and make a positive difference to young people’s lives.
The app awards badges to users once they haveve completed tasks in areas such as team-work, community safety, leadership and social action, which develop their skills towards future employment, and create new opportunities.
The award acknowledges Engage’s contribution, by encouraging young people to become more confident and far-reaching.
Alex Willcocks, co-owner at Engage, said: “I’m passionate about seeing what can be achieved when the private sector works alongside the third sector to make a measurable difference in the communities in which we work.

“I’m so proud of the hard work and dedication shown by everyone at Engage. As a business we have the resources to support organisations like CATCH and it means a lot to have been a part of something that has created change for the better.”
Leeds DCS Steve Cotter added: “Engage’s app is a brilliant example of how we can engage and support young people through an innovative approach.”
