West Yorkshire Police said it was part of an ongoing investigation into a recent firearms discharge in Bradford.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "An NPAS helicopter was deployed in the Armley/ Wortley area of Leeds last night and in the early part of this morning as part of ongoing enquiries into a recent firearms discharge in Bradford.

"The investigation remains ongoing."

It is the second time days that the police helicopter has been out over Armley.

It was called out on Saturday evening in support of a police raid on Shaw Mills business centre, off Armley Town Street.

It turned out to be part of a wider investigation relating to a robbery in which a firearm was allegedly present on Arlington Place in Hunslet last Friday, July 27.
