Teen actress lands TV role

Menston pupil and teen actress Tillie Amartey is continuing her rise to stardom after filming for the forthcoming CBBC series Almost Never.

The 15-year-old will star alongside Tess Daly, Fleur East and Emily Atack in the comedy drama about a teenage band trying to make it big.

Tillie said: “I am so delighted to have been cast in this new show and even more excited to watch the series, the cast were just brilliant, and I have learnt so much.”

The St Mary’s Menston pupil’s role follows success playing Tina Trotts alongside Sheridan Smith in David Walliams’ 2017 Christmas blockbuster Ratburger.

“I’m so lucky to have worked with some of my heroes already,” added Tillie.

“Starring in Ratburger was great fun and Almost Never will be a big hit because it is brilliantly written and very funny.”

Represented by Scream Management since the age of 10, Tillie has built an impressive reputation based on her skills as an actress and presenter and has been an official reporter on CITV.

Fame runs in Tillie’s family and she has been fortunate enough to be able to call on her aunt, Spice Girl Mel-B, for advice on life in the entertainment industry.

Tillie has set her sights on securing more high-profile film and TV roles and exploring her passion for music.

A keen dancer and singer, Tillie is also training as a DJ and is a fan of Old School, Hip Hop, Trap, Rap and Grime music.

Targeting 13-15-year-olds, the Almost Never series, starting in the new year and on BBC iplayer, also stars Pussycat Dolls and MasterChef star, Kimberley Wyatt.
