Swan rescued in Roundhay Park after being found with fishing line down its neck

A swan has been rescued in Roundhay Park after it was found with a fishing line down its neck.

Volunteers from the Yorkshire Swan and Wildlife Rescue Hospital visited the park last week after a call from a concerned member of the public.

The swan had a fishing line down its neck and around a leg.

Rescuers managed to safely capture the swan and remove the fishing line.

A spokesperson for the charity said: "The swan was released back onto the waters a short time later."
