West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) were called to a blaze at the former Catch restaurant in Street Lane, Moortown, today. In a statement issued on Twitter, WYFRS service confirmed they were investigating the cause of the fire. A picture shows damage to the roof of the building.

The restaurant closed down in October this year after its parent company went into administration. Assistant manager of Catch Seafood in Harrogate, Sarah Knox, who joined the Catch 'family' of Yorkshire restaurants in 2020, said the staff were "shocked" by the news.

A message on the Catch website reads: “Catch Seafood has closed and gone into administration. May the good lord bless all the staff and people who worked so hard on creating the brand, developing the food and drink and customer experience.”

We have contacted WYFRS for a full statement.
