Stone Roses fans convinced new music is imminent as iconic lemon logo pops up in Leeds

Tantalising images featuring nothing but Ian Brown and co’s famous lemon logo started appearing on digital advertising screens in their native Manchester yesterday morning.
And now a printed advert – again showing the lemon against a plain white background with no text – has popped up in Victoria Gardens in Leeds city centre.

Roses frontman Brown recently confirmed to music magazine NME that he and his bandmates were in the studio.
Any release would be their first new material since the B-sides to two of the singles from their 1994 Second Coming album.
Slices of lemon featured on the front cover of the indie band’s era-defining debut LP, The Stone Roses, which came out in 1989.
