Eat Like a Greek

From prosecco to Punjabi street food, the Trinity Kitchen is going global with its latest line-up of street food vendors.

There is food and drink from all corners of the world with the new stalls announced this week and taking over the Trinity for the next five weeks.

Jah Jyot offers locally-sourced Punjabi street food inspired by the lively, bustling streets of northern India, serving everything from samosas and thali plates to signature masala dosa.

As the name might suggest, Angus McVenison has travelled to Leeds from the Highlands of Scotland to show shoppers a true taste of the north. The speciality is wild venison steak, Arran cheese and hot beetroot chutney served in a Scottish morning roll.

For something sweet, family-run vendors Chimney Chicks is serving a traditional Hungarian favourite called Chimney Cakes, also known as Kürtőskalács, a crispy dough cone loaded with fillings such as brownies, Nutella, fresh strawberry coulis and ice cream.

New to Trinity Kitchen is Gondola Raclette, inspired Alps style food of potatoes, onions, cornichons and cured meats smothered in melted cheese.

To wash it all down, visitors can enjoy a glass of bubbly thanks to Vicenzo the Prosecco Van, with a range of fruity flavour combinations.

Returning due to popular demand is Eat Like a Greek and BangWok Thai dishes.

Dan Wharton, Marketing Manager at Trinity Leeds, said: “We’re very excited for this latest Trinity Kitchen changeover as we welcome a whole host of new names, as well as some old favourites.”They are there until May 20.
