Snap of Staithes seal makes a splash online
This stunning photograph of a seal posing in Staithes was shared with us by reader Donna Chapman.
She said the seal attracted plenty of attention earlier this year when it was spotted on the slip near the Cod and Lobster Pub, with many holidaymakers reaching for their cameras.
Since picture was shared online yesterday, it's gone viral and attracted more than 24,000 views.
Lots of people have also commented on the shot on the Whitby Gazette Facebook page, with several joking it's got their "seal of approval".
Phil Davidson asked: "Giant seal or mini pub?"
And Dave Bishop joke: “That seal must be almost 100 feet long!”
