Wellington Inn, Harrogate

Quite possibly one of the most picturesque pubs you are likely to visit, with a backdrop any artist would be more than proud of.
It ticks all the boxes when it comes to idyllic boltholes, with roaring fires, good food and an excellent selection of real 
ales. It’s the kind of place you wish you could get snowed in.

Tan Hill Inn

Never mind wishing you could get snowed in, at the Tan Hill Inn, it’s almost par for the course and has happened on numerous occasions, which is not surprising, given it’s Britain’s highest pub.

Still, it’s a refuge for walkers and day trippers alike; you can even stay there if you like. At 1,700ft, you can see for miles around and it even offers night time glimpses of the Northern Lights.

The Bull at Broughton

Near enough to Skipton not to make much difference, this wonderful country pub boasts one of those beer gardens we all dream of once the sun begins to shine a little more often. The pub is also typically English, complete with vine up the wall, wicker chairs, umbrellas and chance of a three-course banquet while sipping your favourite tipple.

The Bankhouse Inn

Boasting impressive views over the green belt between Leeds and Bradford, this pub, which is annually the scene of a rather loud music festival, offers a warm welcome, with a range of craft ales and good food to match.

Three Acres Inn

Set on the edge of the Pennines, this Huddersfield pub prides itself on home cooked food and fine ales. 
It offers a cosy ambience set against the backdrop of the bleak beauty of the Yorkshire countryside and this year it 
is marking its 50th anniversary.

They were recently voted Dining Pub of the Year in the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards 2015 and have also been ranked as second out of the top 30 country pubs with rooms in the UK by Stylist Magazine.

Black Swan, Oldstead

Voted as the world’s best restaurant by TripAdvisor in 2017, this family-run pub also has a Michelin Star and three AA Rosettes.

Its head chef, Tommy Banks, won the Yorkshire Evening Post’s coveted Oliver Awards Outstanding Achievement award last year.
