Robert Potts, 40, (pictured) who works at Fulneck School, Pudsey, is fulfilling a life-long ambition by learning to box and taking part in a charity boxing match being staged in a sports stadium cheered on by a capacity crowd.
The head of student development is one of a number of contenders taking part in a charity fight night event at Bradford City’s Valley Parade ground on Saturday, June 4, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
Mr Potts has already raised more than £1,000 in sponsorship and hopes to reach £2,000.
He said: “Teachers are notorious for urging their students to get out of their comfort zone and try new things, so I thought I should practice what I preach.
“Ever since I saw the film ‘Rocky’ at the age of seven, I have carried the unfulfilled dream of wanting to learn to box. This charity boxing match is helping me fulfil a lifelong ambition whilst raising money for a fantastic cause.
