Pudsey fire: Man suffers smoke inhalation and burns after escaping from house fire in Leeds

A man has suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns after escaping from a house fire in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Swinnow Green, Pudsey, at 11.38pm on Tuesday.

Two fire engines from Stanningley and Bradford were sent to the scene.

A man had escaped from the house before firefighters arrived and was treated by paramedics.

He had suffered from the severe effects of smoke inhalation and had minor burns to his hands.

Crews used two breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets and two positive pressure ventilation fans to put out the fire.
