It comes after a deal was done with Arc Inspirations for it to take 7000 square feet on the ground and first floor to create its flagship The Box bar and restaurant set to open in the middle of next month after a £1.4m investment from the bar group which started in Headingley 20 years ago.

Goodbard House also has 18,000 square feet of office space which is currently occupied over five floors.

Richard Baker, from Rushbond, said: “The office space within Goodbard House is always popular due to its central location, between the railway station and the city’s main legal and financial districts. We have just one office suite available that is about to undergo a major refurbishment programme to create a fantastic space that will appeal to any growing businesses wanting a prominent address in a very central location.”

He said the 1905 Edwardian building is well-known for its attractive façade and The Box fit out will complement its street appearance.

He added: “Arc Inspirations owns and operates some of the most successful and popular bars and restaurants in Leeds, there’s no doubt The Box will be a fantastic new addition for both Leeds city centre’s office core and Goodbard House. This ‘Hotel de Ville’ art nouveau style building is being re-imagined as a key hospitality offering for the City.”
