Power cut Leeds: Over 1500 homes affected by power shortage across Otley area

A power cut in Leeds is affecting over 1500 homes in LS21.

Energy company Northern Powergrid announced the shortage just after 7pm tonight, with a total of 1695 homes hit in the Otley area.

Northern Powergrid tweeted about the power cuts, stating: “There is an unexpected power cut affecting 1695 properties in your area. We currently estimate your power will be back on by 8.30pm.

"For this type of power cut we usually restore power to 90% of our customers in 90 minutes.”
